Slack Chemical Company is seeking candidates to fill mechanic positions at its Carthage, NY facility.
Job Description:
• Repairs and maintains a diversified fleet of trucks and trailers and other equipment according to company preventive maintenance guidelines.
• Performs scheduled maintenance including changing oil, filters, tires, brakes, checking lights, greasing, replace or repair light components and perform operations check.
• Ensure all equipment is repaired up to Federal Commercial Motor Carrier DOT standards.
Responsibilities:
• Performs work as outlined on repair orders with efficiency and accuracy.
• Diagnoses cause of any malfunction and performs repair.
• Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required.
• Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
• Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
Requirements:
• 2 years experience / past work references.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Be able to lift up to 70 lbs., frequently stand, stoop, kneel, crawl.
• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Pass background and drug test.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• Computer skills, including, but not limited to: Microsoft Office, Internet Browser.
• Valid CDL is a plus.
• NYS Heavy Duty Inspectors license is a plus (not mandatory, must be willing to apply).
• Must have minimum tools to perform the maintenance and repair work.
• Be motivated, proactive, focused and well organized.
• Maintain high level of professionalism.
