NORTH COUNTRY DHARMA - Buddhist Study and Meditation Group

Hi Everyone,

We will be having our next North Country Dharma Study Group at the ASUUC - on Sunday November 8th from 1pm - 3pm.

1:00PM - Part One: We will open with a 20 minute meditation. We would like to point out that there is no wrong way of doing this. We encourage you to relax, and be comfortable. If you would like to sit in a chair or on the floor, please do what is ever comfortable to you. Just concentrate on your breathing paying attention to your breath going in and out. If you experience lots of random thoughts, it’s ok just come back to your breath. When you hear the bell ring that is the start of the silent meditation, after about 20 minutes you will hear the bell again and that is the end of the meditation. Remember there is no wrong way, just be comfortable.

1:30PM - Part Two: This will be the introduction to Buddhism part of our group. We will be studying from the book “Buddhism Plain and Simple” by Steve Hagen. This will be an on going study for at least a couple of months, to give people an overview of what Buddhism is. We have found that this is the most i...
